Rogue Opcode is Ionoclast’s own in-house cross-platform game framework. It will always be free, it will always be open, and it will always emphasize simplicity over complexity.
Currently, we’re in the midst of a massive restructuring of the code, as we clean it up, refactor it, and port it from Java to C++11. This work will increase performance, make the framework more robust, and allow us to target other platforms besides Android. Early development builds currently run on Android/Ouya, iOS, and OS X; Windows and GNU/Linux support are in place, but remain untested. Because of reliance on standards and a modular design, other hardware and software platforms should be relatively easy to add.
Rogue Opcode grows and changes organically as the needs of our game development projects evolve over time. As such, it will always be in a state of relative flux. That said, the latest incarnation will be released to the public after it’s had time to mature, and we’ve proven it with a game.
